Good morrow, everyone!
Today I have been tagged by the illuminating Eden @ The Happy Hedgehog to do the Sunshine Blogger Tag! I did this tag once before. I must be super sunshine-y. But last time I didn’t follow the rules AT ALL. Oops.
The nifty thing about this particular tag is that you can do it as many times as you want and there is always something different to say, because bloggers are creative and ask all varieties of questions.
Here are the rules of the tag: (Which I plan to follow this time around!)
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them. (Thank you so much, Eden!)
2. List the rules and display an award logo on your blog post.
3. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
4. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and notify them by commenting on any of their posts. (Of course I can count to eleven, guys.)
5. Ask the nominees 11 new questions.
And now, onto the lovely questions that Eden asked me!
1. Favorite season?
Probably spring, because it’s not too hot or too cold and everything is coming back to life. Little green shoots appear everywhere and trees start to bud and the birds come back and you can feel summer because it is so near, but it hasn’t arrived yet. The whole world seems ready to burst into song!
Okay, this GIF is a lot creepier than I realized it was. But I’m keeping it anyway. It has a blue seal in it.
2. Raisins in cookies. Yay or nay?
I would have said nay when I was younger- I even wrote a poem about it, illustrating my disgust- but since then I have found that raisins in cookies can actually be quite enjoyable. So now I say yea, verily yea.
3. If you could travel to Middle Earth, where would you go?
Honestly, I would pick the Shire without hesitation. I know there are a lot of stunning places in Middle Earth and I would love to visit Rivendell and Lothlórien and Minas Tirith, but if I had to pick just one, it would be the land of hobbits. I am a hobbit and that is where I belong.
4. What is one of the worst book you ever read?
Oi, where do I begin?
A book that just makes me mad is When I Cast Your Shadow. I won’t get into it now, but if you want to know what I thought about it, you can see my rant in this post. You might want to bring earplugs.
5. Favorite mode of transportation?
Hot air balloon. Actually I have never been in one and it would probably terrify me because I am afraid of heights, and also they aren’t very efficient for transport. But I still think they are cool.
Actually, speaking of the Muppets, my favorite mode of transportation is a map. I know you are thinking that a map is not a mode of transportation, but it is. Traveling by map gets you everywhere much quicker than anything else.
6. Name one random thing that makes you happy.
Kermit: [explains that they need something strong enough to bear their weight so they can climb down]
Lew Zealand: Here’s the paper towels.
That, and the Snow Scout Pledge from The Slippery Slope. Snow Scouts are accommodating, basic, calm, darling, emblematic, frisky, grinning, human…etc. We are all still wondering how a person can be xylophone.
7. Favorite teen writer? (Doesn’t have to be published.)
Me: Well, that’s OBVIOUS. MY SISTER IS THE GREATEST TEEN WRITER EVER.
Me: …Except, she’s not a teen anymore.
She is still my favorite unpublished author, better than the vast majority of published authors I have read, but she got old for some reason. So I have to think of someone ELSE.
Probably my cousin. Her poetry is gorgeous and it gives me feelings. You should read her blog, it’s beautiful.
8. Fictional character that made you REALLY mad?
Oh boy, here we go. So many to choose from!
Well, after we first read Harry Potter, my cousins and I established a club called I-Hate-Umbridge. We had a little chant and everything.
9. What’s one of the most inspiring blog posts you read this year?
You expect me to REMEMBER THINGS?
Um, let’s see…
Wow, I really don’t remember things so I am going to have to go super recent here. I just discovered a blogger named Evelyn with a blog called the rain-drenched writer. She wrote a post called the beauty of words, which I found inspiring because I love words a lot.
10. Favorite form of procrastination? (*evil laughter*)
Reciting the Snow Scout Pledge. Obviously. “Snow Scouts are accommodating, basic, calm, darling, emblematic, frisky, grinning, human, innocent, jumping, kept, limited, meek, nap-loving, official, pretty, quarantined, recent, scheduled, tidy, understandable, victorious, wholesome, xylophone, young, and zippered- every morning, every afternoon, every night, and all day long!” –The Slippery Slope, by Lemony Snicket
11. What’s one of the first things you would do if you became the last person on earth?
Probably cry. And then play the bagpipes, because there would be no one left to be bothered by them.
Now we get to the part where I tag eleven people. Oh boy.
I tag…
Middle Earth Musician @ Music, Mystery, Middle Earth, and Mitochondria
deshipley @ Ever On Word
Hailey @ Now All I Know Is Grace
Chelsea @ An Ordinary Pen
Maggie @ Maggie’s Musings
Annie Xia @ Zoelogist
Issa @ Wonderfilled Issa
Iona @ Dragon Waffles
Clara @ Clara and Co.
and The Temperamental Writer @ All Things Trivial and Insignificant
See, I told you I knew how to count to eleven.
Now for my questions:
- What is one phenomenal book that you think more people should know about?
- Who is one of your favorite fictional characters and why?
- What is a song that you really love at this moment?
- If you could acquire one real-life skill overnight, what would it be? (like the ability to perform neurosurgery or play the accordion or balance a grape on your nose for extended periods of time)
- If you could acquire one non-real-life skill overnight, what would it be? (like the ability to breathe underwater or control objects with your mind or balance a grape on your nose for extended periods of time)
- What book surprised you the most this year, and in what way? (It doesn’t have to be one that came out this year)
- Would you rather be a superhero or his butler?
- What makes you laugh? (Besides reading this blog, because I already know I’m hilarious)
- What is something that you know is silly but you love it anyway?
- Which fictional character would you adopt in a heartbeat?
- If money was no object, which book would you adapt either into a movie or into a Broadway musical?
Epilogue
There you have it. If you are reading this and my questions look like fun, feel free to steal the tag!
Do fictional characters ever make you want to tear your hair out? Are you a fan of the muppets? Have you read anything amazing recently? Can you balance a grape on your nose? Feel free to answer any of the questions from this post in the comments, I would love to hear from you!

You think so? I have never been very quick on the uptake with manners, so I am glad to get your opinion on the matter.

mhm mhm many sources in tomes can probably confirm the simple fact. sadly in recent years its inclusion in conduit colouring books ages 3-5 must have been forgotten

You are most welcome! Yes, the muppets are so charismatic that even people who hardly know them can’t help but love them. 😉 Wow, I never knew there was a kermit cult. You and your friend are serious about the muppets, I see.

Thank you for tagging meee!!! Haha since I found out about blogger awards years ago I wished that I would get one 😀 you’ve made my dream come true!! Now here are some notes I was making on your post:
– The elf with the shotgun XD it’s so funny. I like how the butterflies all land on them at the same time.
– My college classmate said one of her teachers looks like Dolores Umbridge but she’s actually nice, so my friend is having a difficulty un-associating her with Umbridge!
– Number 11 made me laugh out loud. HAHAHA

You are most welcome! The fact that I made your dream come true makes me very happy. 🙂 I look forward to seeing your answers!
Hehe, yes, the elf with the shotgun is great.
Wow, that is funny! I haven’t met anyone who looks like Umbridge, thankfully. But that would be hard.
Thanks so much for your comments!

I love the muppets so much. That is hilarious. What movie is that scene from?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yay! The Muppets are fantastic- I grew up with them and my life would be poorer without their wit and hilarity. The paper towel scene is from The Great Muppet Caper, one of my favorite Muppet movies of all time.

I don’t know what else to say on that… 😛
TRAVEL BY MAP
Yes, yes yes.
You have seen one of the greatest kid movies too! 😀 😀 *high-fives*
Oh my goodness your questions are amazing! I have such trouble coming up with any…
You also are very good at pulling off a very entertaining post from a tag. XD
Bravo. 😉

You deserve to be mentioned, my friend, but I know how shocking it can be. I tend to keel over, but you managed a bow, which is most polite. Bravo! Your post really was most inspiring and I hope you know how much I enjoyed it!
I know, if we could all just figure out how to travel by map we’d save so much time.
Thank you muchly, I am glad that you like my questions, and that you found my post entertaining. I appreciate it. 🙂

That gif is a bit startling…but the little blue seal is adorable.
You would like to live in the Shire?! Good choice…Jeb approves! 😉
YES! I loved that post by Evelyn too!
Do you play the bagpipes?!! Because if you do…*inhales deeply*
*prepares to scream very loud and very long*
I loved reading your answers…you are quite an entertaining sponge. 😊

Alas, no, I don’t play the bagpipes, I just like the IDEA of it. I know someone who plays them, though. Perhaps one of these days I will ask her to give me lessons.
Thank you so much, I am happy to hear you enjoyed reading my answers! I do try. 😉

Ahh, that is indeed sad. But I’m in the exact same boat…except that I don’t know anybody who plays them. There you have me beat. 😀
Yes, you are quite entertaining! ❤️

Whaaat, you are a yay for raisins in cookies?? Okay, I know this is not a life-threatening debate, but it’s a bit of a hot topic for me because I have this one friend who not only likes oatmeal raisin cookies-which is a little insane but not extremely so-but would choose them OVER CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. And I just cannot understand.
Um do you mean by paper map or by satellite map? Because I think it would take me a million times longer to get somewhere by paper map.
Hahaha, I didn’t realize the Snow Scout Pledge goes in alphabetical order until I got to Xylophone.
Oh, I can actually relate to how awful Umbridge is now because I READ THE HARRY POTTER SERIES THIS SUMMER!
And ahhhh, thank you so much for tagging me!!! Ohh, I’m excited to answer your questions.

There really are some very good oatmeal raisin cookies out there, surprisingly, but I mainly like the recipe that my mother makes. When it comes to store bought cookies, I am not very excited about oatmeal raisin. It is hard to fathom someone preferring oatmeal raisin to chocolate chip, though I think both are quite tasty.
Just by map. The kind with the line that draws itself on your route as you travel. It turns journeys of days and months into mere seconds. (It’s really just a joke. You know how in movies sometimes it shows a cool map and draws a line to show where the characters are traveling? In the Muppets they act like this actually cuts down travel time.)
Isn’t it the most inspiring pledge?
What did you think of Harry Potter???
You are welcome! I am excited to read your answers!

How would you describe the difference between store bought oatmeal cookies and your mom’s recipe? We got him some for his birthday, and we tied the note “to die” around the bag. Also if possible, would your mom be okay with sharing her recipe?? I would love to try it out on my friend.
Oh hahaha! Dang, we need some of those.
Um, I loved Harry Potter. I watched my first movie on Friday-Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. To be honest, I wasn’t that amazed by it. I think it’s because the CGI feels kind of old. And the actors didn’t feel as real as the characters. And so many parts of the plot weren’t there. I feel like I would’ve been kind of confused if I hadn’t read the book. BUT oh my goodness, Umbridge. Um, she might’ve been the best actress in that movie?? She was so infuriating.

Hm…that’s a tough question. I don’t eat store bought oatmeal cookies often, but I want to say that the homemade ones are more…buttery, and kind of carmely? Like, the borwn sugar and butter carmelize…or something. It’s just yummy, I’m not sure. 😉
Remind me about the recipe! I don’t know where it is and my mom isn’t here right now, but I doubt she would mind sharing it.
I am glad you liked Harry Potter! Yeah, the movies are definitely disappointing, especially the first time around. And The Order of the Phoenix has to cut out SO MUCH. Umbridge is really good though! They cast her very well.

Hmm, interesting. Okay, maybe I just haven’t eaten the right oatmeal cookie yet. This is me reminding you about the recipe!
Wait, have to movies gotten better as you’ve watched them more? I KNOW. I was watching it with friends who haven’t read the books, and I was like, how is this making sense to you? Oh my goodness, for real. Also, I learned from Olivia that the famous Turn to page 42 scene is actually a movie scene? That was something I was expecting going into the books only for it to never happen over thousands of pages.

On it, I have found the recipe and I will send it to you after replying to this comment!
The movies get better mainly because you get used to them- at least, that’s what happened to my sister and me. I don’t know why it works like that. But I hated most of them for a while, and then I started to like them. You just have to accept that they aren’t going to be as good as the books, and then it gets okay.
Haha, yeah, that is a movie scene. Except I think it’s page 394? It’s in The Prisoner of Azkaban movie.

Ahh, thank you!!
Haha okay, I will go into the next Harry Potter movie with that mindset. Are there any other famous lines/scenes that are solely movie scenes??

Um, I am sure that there are… I can’t at the moment think of any?

Oatmeal Crispies (don’t worry, they are cookies, I don’t know why they are called that):
3/4 cube of butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup and 2 Tbs All purpose flour
1 and 1/2 cups oats
1/2 cup raisins
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes
(You just follow the normal cookie making rules, like creaming the sugar and butter first and mixing the dry ingredients separately.)
Hopefully that is all correct! Let me know if it works out.

Oh, you had an I-hate-Umbridge club, too? My family listened to “The Order of the Phoenix” audiobook on a long car trip and my sister and I used to boo really loudly whenever Umbridge was there.

Haha, yes, Umbridge is just one of those extremely-popular-to-hate characters. It’s kind of impressive how unlikable she is.

Yeah, some people actually hated her more than Voldemort. J.K Rowling did a great job creating an unlikeable character.
